The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is said to have shortlisted 20 players for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. The review meeting was held on Sunday.
Who attended the meeting?
Head coach Rahul Dravid, skipper Rohit Sharma, NCA chairman VVS Laxman, and top selector Chetan Sharma met in a Mumbai hotel for over four hours before deciding on the team. BCCI president Roger Binny participated in the meeting through video conference.
In the meeting other topics like performance in the Asia Cup 2022 and the T20 World Cup 2022, player availability, workload management, and fitness metrics were also discussed.

BCCI issues guidelines for workload management of players
Following the meeting, BCCI issues a statement revealing plans for injury and workload management. To stop players from getting injured more often, BCCI has asked the NCA to work with IPL teams on workload management. Apart from the Yo-Yo test, BCCI has made Dexa test mandatory. The test is mandatory for any player to return to Team India following an injury layoff.
