A fresh moderate to strong western disturbance is very likely to effect over parts of Jammu and Kashmir from today late afternoon under its influence,
Moderate rain/snow is expected in plains of Kashmir while moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in higher reaches of Jammu, Kashmir and UT Ladakh from today late afternoon/ evening till 30 night .
Moderate rain is expected in plains of Jammu while moderate to heavy snowfall is expected at Ladakh.
Few plains of South Kashmir districts can receive heavy snowfall from late night today.
South Kashmir districts may receive more precipitation as compared to central and north kashmir .
Peak intensity from today night – 30 evening .
Snow accumulation expectation as per weather models:
1-5 feet snow is expected in higher reaches
2-12 inches in plains of South Kashmir.
1-7 inches in central Kashmir plains
1-9 inches in North kashmir plains
Improvement in weather is very likely from 31 Jan morning/ afternoon thereafter dry weather is expected.
