The England team is on a tour of Pakistan these days. A three-match Test series is being played between the two teams. England won the series 2-0 by winning the first two matches. The first match of this series was played in Rawalpindi where the batsmen batted fiercely and scored more than 1700 runs. After this, there was a lot of criticism of the Rawalpindi pitch. Pakistan Cricket Board President Rameez Raja himself called this pitch shameful. Now the ICC has given its verdict on this. This decision of ICC can increase the problems of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The ICC has described the Rawalpindi pitch as below average.
Pycroft released his findings on Tuesday, describing the Rawalpindi pitch as ‘below average. This is the second time that the Rawalpindi pitch has gotten a poor rating. Earlier, when Australia went to Pakistan for a Test series, this pitch was given a poor rating after the match.
Regarding the Rawalpindi pitch, Pycroft said, ‘It was a very flat pitch which did not provide any help to any kind of bowler, this was the main reason that the batsmen scored very fast and both sides scored big. The pitch hardly deteriorated during the match. Since there was little for the bowlers in it, I found the pitch to be ‘below average as per ICC guidelines.
