Rains bring minimum temperature down in J&K, below 2.5°C In Gulmarg, MeT Forecasts Light Showers In Next 24 Hours

Rain, most lately last evening, brought down minimum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir with mercury settling below 2.5°C in Gulmarg on Sunday.

The weatherman has also forecast scattered light rain and thunderstorms over J&K in the next 24 hours.

A meteorological department official here told GNS that isolated to scattered light to moderate rain and thunderstorms was expected in the next 24 hours.

In last 24 hours till 0830 a.m., Katra received highest rainfall of 70.2mm followed by Pahalgam with 5.9mm, Gulmarg 5.2mm, Kathua 2.8mm, Kupwara 5.2mm, Srinagar 0.6mm, qazigund 0.4mm and 0.2mm in Kukernag and Banihal.

Regarding minimum temperature, he said that Srinagar recorded a low of 16.9°C against 21.4°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.5°C below normal during this time of the year for the summer capital, he said.
