Discussions are being held for this since 3 years ago. In 2019, a proposal to increase the age limit of non-educational doctors of the state was prepared. After which the consent of the departmental minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi was taken. The file was then sent to the Finance Department. However, for three years, the matter was hanging in the balance due to various reasons.

Earlier, the retirement age of Dr was raised from 60 to 62 years. However then it was increased to 65 with an increase of 3 years. Once again, preparations have been made to extend it for 2 years. The doctors will have to produce a certificate in this regard, making it clear that he is medically fit to render the service.

If the retirement age of doctors is not made in the next 2 years, about 150 doctors in the state will retire. At the same time, doctors will be appointed soon in the state. A demand letter will be sent to JPSC for appointment to 234 posts of Medical Officers including 934 posts of specialist doctors.
