Early snowfall damages apple orchards in Shopian villages
Shopian, Oct 23: The season’s early snowfall has caused damage to apple orchards in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, reports said on Saturday.
Reports reaching Khabar Fast said that the villages comprising Chitragam kalan,Sugan,Nagbal, Keller, Saloo, and Herpora of Shopian received light snowfall, which has caused damage to apple orchards as the fruit was still on trees when snowfall occurred.
Chief horticulture officer Shopian said that he along with a team of officials went to visit the affected areas to assess the damage.
