Srinagar, Oct 09: Following the killing of two government teachers, authorities have asked the School Education Department (SED) to collect the details of all teachers belonging to the minority community.
Principal Secretary to the government for School Education Department, B K Singh said, “We are collecting the information of minority teachers only in order to follow certain security protocols.”
“We have to guide them as to how to be on the safer side and how to approach us in case of any urgency,” Singh said.
Singh also said, “We are trying to keep the teachers safe at their present locations and as of now there was no question of transferring or shifting the minority teachers posted in Kashmir to Jammu region.”
He also said that it is not possible to keep only Muslim in Kashmir region and Hindus in Jammu. “Teachers have to work collectively.”
